Eric C. Peterson is GLDPartners’ Public Policy Advisor. Eric supports GLDPartners’ state, federal and international clients by interpreting policy, developing funding solutions and providing counsel to make regulatory and legislative adjustments. For over three decades Eric has successfully navigated the regulatory and legislative processes for businesses, organizations, and governments.
Eric’s background includes more than three decades of service as a congressional staffer, a senior executive in three federal agencies including the U.S. Department of Transportation, and a variety of senior policy leadership roles with transportation, telecommunication, and economic development organizations at the local, state, national and international levels. He played a leading roles in the passage of the last three federal surface transportation authorization bills, the reorganization of the U.S. Department of Transportation research programs, and the financing of Washington Metro Rail’s extension to Dulles International Airport, among other major transportation infrastructure initiatives.
Mr. Peterson has represented the United States government before the Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation on issues including consumer protection and international trade, and before the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Congress, helping to advance hydrogen fuel cell development in the United States and around the world.
Mr. Peterson is an active participant in the affairs of and contributor to the American Public Transportation Association, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Eno Center for Transportation, and the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies of Science.
